There's a total lunar eclipse coming up Wednesday night (in the Americas; early Thursday morning in Europe). I wasn't previously aware of it, but discovered it by accident while fooling around with Celestia. I was watching the Moon going through its phases at a high time rate when it momentarily blinked. At first I thought it might be a graphics bug, but when I viewed it again at slow speed I realized it was an eclipse. I checked on the web to confirm that Celestia had it right. (How could I have doubted?) Pretty neat.
