Oh I can't wait! Also, since you added the Martian Rovers, are their places gonna be marked in the "Locations" file?

Why designate them locations? It is enough turn on the names of the spacecraft and everything will be visible.

Ahhh. It was just because they are now on the ground and thus, not considered spacecraft. But you're the boss.

Hi, I know I'm a bit late, but also very confused. I certainly remember a "Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets for Celestia" thread started by gironde. What happened to that thread?

I believe it was merged into this thread with the "Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars" thread.

I understand that. But these two threads are completely separate, so why was that one not turned into an announcement by itself? Why the merge?

The merge was because I am currently merging some of the previous addons threads about Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets in Celestia, in an attempt to unify those addons so that anyone who wants to look for them need not go further and backwards in time, since several good addons may have been lost or "buried", so to speak. It just so happened that your first post is older than gironde's original post, which was the basis for the original post CM1215 mentioned.

Regardless, I'll just make a new official addon post related to any extrasolar but not extragalactic objects, and then hope for the best.

Since martian rovers were added, are our planet's artificial satellites represented as well? I know it'd be quite the pain to do it due to their sheer number and the classified nature of the military ones, but I think that creating something like 20 different models and multiplying them with an algorithm could be doable and would give a decent representation of the situation.
Plus, it's an ever-growing element of our space landscape. I mean, I was reading the other day an article with a title that reads "How self-driving cars will change the property market" and if this happens, it means that the already huge number of GPS satellites will grow significantly.

Hi Kilo_SSK, you should ask toutatis for that. He's our resident expert on making spacecraft add-ons.

Great, thanks! The thread's already packed full of info, I'll read it through and through and see how many questions I still have afterwards?
