I'm not entirely sure about the new Jupiter rings texture. It seems a little too visible.

The point is to highlight the different rings in the Jovian system.

Don't worry, in normal mode the rings are inconspicuous. :smoke:

The textures of Uranian moons are repainted and improved. Model quality upgraded to original. Miranda's texture resolution increased to 4K.

I'm honestly surprised how much dedication was put into this. It's very amazing to see that people actually took the time to make an up-to-date space simulator.

I want to ask professionals about these telescopes. https://www.bestadvisor.com/best-telescopes
I'm interested (beginner) in it and want to buy a telescope to watch the stars, but I'm not ready to spend too much money.
Thoughts?

I'm not a professional, but I think that among them the first telescope (Celestron NexStar 6 SE) is the best solution.
I have got Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope too but from another manufacturer. A very convenient closed system with a huge optical zoom.
In addition to the stars will be well visible Moon, planets, and planets' moons. Using adapters you can connect the camera.

Now all that's missing are improved textures and models of Helene, Daphnis, and Telesto.

Official models do not exist yet. But I think LukeCEL could help us by making at least approximate forms.

Okay, I'll bite.

Helene: It's frustrating that there are so many good photos of Helene and no official model has been made, to my knowledge. I have one, but it's not very good. However, I noticed that Fenerit has posted a model and accompanying texture, before the website went down. You may want to ask him on the Celestial Matters forums, provided that he gives permission for reuse.

Telesto: Like Helene, Fenerit has also made a model and texture for Telesto. I, however, was much lazier, giving Telesto the mesh of Prometheus, the texture of Deimos, and semi-axes to stretch it into an appropriate shape:

Code: Select all

   Texture   "deimos.jpg"
   Mesh      "prometheus.cmod"
   SemiAxes   [ 15 15 18 ]

Daphnis: There's only one remotely good photo of Daphnis. I guess I could use that to make an approximate model.
