Well, you could either delete the texture or just not install the update altogether. I mean, come on, no one forces you to update it.

Added after 2 hours 38 minutes:
Art Blos, something I'd like to inform you about. The moon S/2016 J 2 now has an official name, Valetudo. It would be very nice if you could update it to have it's new name.
PC Specs
Lenovo windows7 PC
AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 215 Processor 2.70 GHz
32-bit operating system, x64-based processor Windows 10 Home Edition version 1803 Build 17134.285 Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics

Our main textures of the Earth, Moon and Mars always have been with a resolution of 32K.

You reminded me by accident of shrinking the textures using Paint.net... I remember doing it with KSP mods!

Oh, well that sounds like the best idea. If your computer lags a lot or just isn't able to load the textures, it's best to shrink them.

Gurren Lagann < Virtual textures are good because they contain several levels of quality (in different folders) that can be easily removed. Compressing DDS directly is a bad idea.

Art Blos, I suggest putting the OSIRIS-REx mission in Celestia Origin. You can find it by looking through spacecrafts for Celestia.

Art Blos, an addon that would be perfect for Celestia Origin. STEREO A and B spacecrafts. SSC file modifications by me, textures and trajectories by toutatis.
