Re: Writing a novel, seeking help with Celestia

Perhaps somebody reading this, with a better computer than mine, might be willing to load up every known asteroid, comet, and dwarf planet into your copy of Celestia, set the date to July, 2150, and just eyeball the straight-line path between Earth and Saturn for anything that comes close? If anyon...

Re: Venus like exoplanet

One note: Maat Moons is just as insignificant compared to the entirety of Venus as Everest is compared to Earth.

I agree with MrSpace43. Why not leave the terrible past alone, and think about the future?

Re: Celestia Worldbuilding Project

1. Due to weak bandwidth still existing, the releases arent cumulative. You still have to download the releases one by one (unless i compile everything into a single file).

2. I'm not a common CO user, but its probs compatible with it.

Re: Venus like exoplanet

Venusian worlds have thick, dense atmospheres, which would very quickly erode any craters on the planet's surface.

Re: very annoying cloud bug

Actually, the Vyasan cloud texture (again, by Steve, with permission) is 4k (because of limitations on my PC), and the cloud texture is not 0 - but it works for me on 1.6.1 PC, 1.7.0 PC (I'm not an 1.6.2 PC tester), and 1.7.0 Android.

Re: very annoying cloud bug

Oh fyi, Trappist wont be able to post the cloud texture, because as noted in the core readme (probs) and on the DeviantArt page, it actually belongs to Steve Bowers (usage in the addon was with credit and permission), so you have to ask him first.

Re: Anybody besides me tired of constant captchas getting here?

So far, the captcha (or what i like to call the "Captchavirus") has appeared and infected in:
North America (I only saw reports from the US so far)
South America (I got it, being a brazillian)
Western Europe (Russia didnt get it yet)
India (someone on Discord got the forum captchas as well)

Re: Who is the person from 'Earth Productions'?

Off-topic ik, but BFDI wasn't the show Joey P called that. I believe that it was Marsha Speaks.
Also, calling BFDI cringe will turn an entire community against you.

Young Angel Nebula from Candacia
Note: Contains a Hubble-like description, as its supposed to be an image taken from an amateur astronomer's telescope on Candacia.
Personal Note: The author's name in the image is NOT my real name.

Re: Anybody besides me tired of constant captchas getting here?

Ever since the captchas were first implemented, they simply never left me alone! There wasnt a single morning that i didnt have to check the captcha... for the last two months or so! I'm using Internet Explorer on a Windows 7 PC (because specific browsers are for certain things for me), and Google C...

Re: Project TNO - Textures of Large TNOs

First of all, all of the TNOs currently in Project TNO aren't "potato-shaped" - they are either spheroids, or ellipsoids. Some moons are "potato-shaped" though. Second, textures aren't the same thing as models/in-game renders - they are components of the rendering, and without th...

Re: Binaries Just "Sit There"

Just noting a few things, since you recently returned from a long hiatus: Wide binary systems take a long time to orbit (several years at least), so a timewarp of, say, 100000x real time, isnt enough. For example, a binary system with an orbital period of 20 years will take ~6.3 seconds to orbit at ...

Re: Project Sisyphus - Texturing/painting every exoplanet known

You can all help and contribute, as Project Sisyphus is a community project! I'd like to note that i'm mainly doing confirmed exoplanets, as unconfirmed ones for me... are actually low priority atm due to their detection rates. Also Joey, i will only accept real names/catalog IDs for stars, and any ...
