Re: Pictures from Celestia

Its called tidal locking thermodynamics. One half of the planet always gets the heat from the star, the other half never does.

Also, you seem to had forgotten that you said it yourself: viewtopic.php?p=144912#p144912

Re: Star textures

There is a little thing that apparently very few people are aware of nowdays.
Its a little thing called something like... What was it... Oh yeah, creative liberties!

Re: PlanetGenerator a small utility for generate planets.

Oh btw, here's a suggestion: Could you make the generator generate systems around set stars (with set planets) as input, while keeping the planets in mind? For example, if i make the generator generate systems around every single star with real exoplanets, the generator tries to keep the real exopla...

Re: PlanetGenerator a small utility for generate planets.

There are two READMEs per language, one with information about the generator, and another listing how to use and the list of commands.
Next time, please read both READMEs before complaining.

BTW, i did get the generator to work.

Re: Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars

This add-on adds over 550 stars in NGC 55 , one of the galaxies between our Local Group, and the Sculptor Group. Over 100 Cepheid variables did not have spectral types on SIMBAD, so I (with Luke's help and formulae) calculated their spectral types from their V-I indexes. Also, pretty much every sing...

One of the rare chthonian planet systems: Kepler-1520 Sisyphus_Kepler1520.png Sisyphus_Kepler1520b.png One of the very few systems known with chthonian rocky planets, Kepler-1520 will surely surprise you, with an debris tail made out of sprites, coming out of an rocky planet that has its days count...

The one system where all orbital logic goes out of the window:

The final system remake, this new version is completely different from 2018's version.

This is my second remake of an old addon. This time, its the nearby Ross 128!
At just 11 light-years from Earth, it is the 12th closest known stellar system.

It has been a while, but say hello to... Kepler-1654! Sisyphus_Kepler1654.png Sisyphus_Kepler1654b.png This is an remake of an old addon I made back in 2018: Sisyphus_Kepler1654b-2018vs2020.png As you can see, I had significantly improved this system from before. Janus and Art Blos - As far as i know, Trappist's PC runs Windows 7 (the same OS i use), but his PC has an admin password put by his parents when he downloads some programs (on this case, 7zip).

Jujua, your math is actually wrong - Release 8 is 1.17 GB big, so having two copies of it actually gives you 2.34 GB, not 3.4 GB.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread

I have an idea to implement subclasses beyond 9: The core of the star subclasses is at star.cpp - in it, there's this little snippet of code: const char* SubclassNames[11] = { "0", "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "7", &quo...

I usually call the GIMP tool with the surf wave icon the "Transform" tool, but Trappist calls it the "Warp" tool, so I'm using the latter for consistency.

Hurricanes and cyclones are different names for the same phenonemon, but you can use the warp tool to make those.

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

The first custom spacecraft of mine: The HAMS spacecraft! HAMS, or the High-Altitude Mars Surveyor, is a custom spacecraft i came up, with a launch date in 2013. After cruising towards Mars, the HAMS spacecraft inserts itself into a initial, low Mars orbit, for a total of 1 week. This orbit will se...
