Re: Where did light from 15 billion light years away start..

So, by my reckoning, that light beam that took 15 billion years to reach us... must have been right next to us when it first started it's journey 15 billion years ago... After those 100'000 (or was it 300'000) years or so it took the universe to cool down a bit, a photon could move freely in the un...

You assume quite a lot, but anyway... The reason for mankind's future extinction will very likely not be considerations like this

Re: New UNOFFICIAL OS X Celestia Build (7-24-05)

Hey there Neo - if you are talking about a way to temporally go to the beginning of, say, the Mir space station, doctorjoe created a patch that does just that. Hi Blinded! Sorry for my poor english, my intention was something else: With "time needed" I mean the time that the travel takes after hitt...

Re: New UNOFFICIAL OS X Celestia Build (7-24-05)

Here's feeback from one more OSX user: First the interface enhancements: - I like the splash. The graphic is absolutely fantastic. The metal does not disturb me too much, though I would prefer it not to be there. But I see the point about moving the window. When you show Celestia with double screen ...

Re: Mac users: 10.4.1 very nice update

Now as I reinstalled Tiger and upgraded to 10.4.1 I don't have any more problems with pre 1.4 neither. 10.4.1 works well, although I don't really see any differences in performance to 10.3.9.
Looks like the problem I had was just a coincidential bug.

Re: are key commands adjustable?

Harry, your script is great. Celestia is just much more elegant when the "g" command uses p.e. 30 sec and the "c" command 10 sec. When you watch Celestia on your home cinema, everything else is too fast and makes the planets, moons and stars look very light in weight. Is there a way to do the same w...

I will try it again with 10.4.1 and tell you the result. Seems that only I am encountering this problem...

Re: Mac users: 10.4.1 very nice update

I just installed Celestia 1.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.0 on an external hard drive, using a brand new PowerBook. Celestia crashes immediately whenever I try to use the mouse for something else than navigation. When I left-click objects to select them or when I right-click on an object to change to an altSur...
