Icons for Celestia

Not a topic board, but
Here are some file extension icons for ssc, stc, dsc, cms, cmod
I reccommend changing the file icons using FileTypesMan https://filetypesman.en.softonic.com/

Re: fyr02's Fictional System

I know that, the base for Kessea was ROUGHLY HD 40307. I mainly used it because it had a habitable planet that could be used as a guidepost for Argolea. What I meant by main-sequence star was a K star on the main sequence, instead of a object of class sdK2 or K2IV (example: K2-3) Added Neophus. Neop...

Re: fyr02's Fictional System

Sorry about that. Those values are generated by Celestia and sometimes those values can by horribly off. I'll try to fix that as soon as possible EDIT: The correct Radius should be 0.9212 x Sun, or 640703.812 km. The temperature on Argolea should now be a more liveable 238 K. I've always imagined Ar...

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread

4.) real time stc, ssc, dsc file editing without restarting Celestia I feel like a "Reload from Disk" button would do the trick where it would reload all Celestia files from the disk. I would imagine a list of check boxes saying "ssc", "stc", "dsc", "mod...

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2019

nice! One Suggestion: May I suggest that the default texture be tinted slightly yellow/brown to simulate the true color of Venus as seen from Venera 13 here: https://wp-assets.futurism.com/2014/04/Venera.jpg and from Venera 13/14 here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Chc9kslUcAAFiJJ.jpg It probably won'...

Re: Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets for Celestia

jujuapapa, 1. Since Venus essentially doesn't rotate during its orbit (it does, but very slowly and is almost tidally locked), the far side of Venus only sees sunlight every ~170 days. If your house didn't get sunlight for 170 days, it would be very cold, wouldn't it? But Venus is the same temperatu...

Re: Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets for Celestia

I imagine all of the planets to have significant atmospheres, so the "eyeball" effect wouldn't appear here, as the atmosphere would transfer heat to the dark side of the planet.

Plus I really don't know how to do the eyeball effect anyway

All of the planets do have a synchronous orbit. I can't understand what you're trying to say in the second statement.
Also what about TRAPPIST-1?

Creating Realistic Gas Giant Textures

Hi everyone! Recently I decided to make a texture for Pollux b (Thestias) and I decided to make it into a tutorial on how to make Gas Giants! Here we go or something STEP 1: DOWNLOAD GIMP We're going to be using a program called GIMP, which is essentially a free version of Photoshop. If you have Pho...
