Re: 3D mesh sizes

But if you are using Anim8or for the CMOD conversion, maybe isn't necessary to convert the model in .3DS, since Anim8tor can import the Lightwave objects (.LWO). The only problem with doing it straight from the .lwo file, is that 99.9% of the time Anim8or complains about the obj file missing and th...

Re: 3D mesh sizes

Well I know he uses Lightwave.
Then I convert them to 3ds, do my tweaking, then export to cmod using Anim8or.
I will ask him to be more specific as to what his meaning is.

Thanks,

3D mesh sizes

I just got an email from one of my friends that lets me use his models. Tim, I like to know: What is the ideal number of polygons for Celestia? This information will be useful for me when I create new meshes. I wasn't really sure how to answer him. So I answered him with an assumtion-"I don't r...

Re: Star Trek at Home Volume 1

Thank you for the kind words.
I am working on a companion scc file for the addon (taking along time) that will put observation point in the outside bays, so you can see the insides of them.
How many have found the bays yet?
Here are some picks-see if you can find them

Uploading addons to the MotherLode

In the past couple weeks I have had addon rejected by the ML for mistakes on my part. The reason for the mistakes-I didn't fully read the instructions on the "Upload" page at the ML http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/upload.php Especially this section- Keep in mind that Celestia is a multi-...

Re: Strange Behavior of Sol when Pluto's Hydra is On-Screen

I have seen this also. But with models of starships that I have in addons. It is really bad when you get up close to said starships and the sun is at a fair distance away. I just assumed it was the space that the model is occupying crossing the view of the sun. Never tried it with a moon that is mad...

Scripting to change models

I have my new Drydock addon finished, except I would like to know is there a way to change between 2 models so an observer can see the difference.
