This builds and runs fine. Committed on Feb. 24 2018.Soon after this, and I'm not sure when exactly, normalmaps act strangely on my system. Gonna try and see what is the real cause but a lot has changed since then.

The hardware list is in my signature. OS is Tumbleweed. I took the first image using the windows version 1.5.1 running on wine. That one looks right. The other was running the gtk version 1.6.1. But it looks same on qt5 running 1.7.0 beta. Current source. Open GL 3.0. If nobody else has this problem...

This problem goes back to version 1.5.1. If I use a normalmap on earth with a specularmap the color gets all messed up. This is strange. Once installed, you should be able to edit as you choose. As long as the file permissions are correct. Do you have known file extensions visible? That error went away and I'm not sure why. It was replaced by error reading configuration file. What gets me is it finds the splash screen. I also tried a build on high sierra. The example used had 2 different identifiers. One was MU and the other was Mu. One of them was hip 33345 and the other pointed to hip35355. I'm not sure if all variable stars are treated as such. If so Maybe include lower case?
