half of some asteroid model missing [SOLVED]

Only half of Ida and Eros model is showing. Is this normal? This happen with all render path (basic, multitexture + OpenGL vertex program). See images: http://godard.b.free.fr/echange/celestia/ida.jpg http://godard.b.free.fr/echange/celestia/eros.jpg System : Mandriva 2007, linux kernel 2.6.17 SMP A...

Moon + Mars texture bug with OpenGL vertex program [SOLVED]

I get black stripes on the Moon and Mars with render path : OpenGL vertex program (this does not happen with the 2 other render path : basic and multitexture or with other planets) See images: http://godard.b.free.fr/echange/celestia/mars.jpg http://godard.b.free.fr/echange/celestia/moon.jpg System ...

celestia 1.4.1 linux autopackage is missing many models

All the 3DS models are missing from the celestia 1.4.1 autopackage for Linux. Thus you don't even get one single spacecraft : no ISS, no Mir, no Hubble ...

Luckily, I was able to get these models from the source tarball.

TLE, SGP4 & SDP4 code

I have just finished writing a C++ library for TLE, SGP, SGP4, SDP4, SGP8 & SDP8, based on Dominik Brodowski SGP C library (which is itself based on Dr TS Kelso NORAD Pascal library). I have re-arranged the code to make it object-oriented. Using this library, I would like to implement the SGP4 a...

Re: cmodtools under linux

Thank you for your replies, Toti and Selden. In order to run, some of the exporters might need a full Phyton installation. Your Phyton version must be compatible with Blender's Phyton API. You must set your Phyton path accordingly. You can get more info here: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/ I have Ble...

Re: cmodtools under linux

About blender export module, most of them doesn't even output anything. I get an error in the console. The 3DS export outputs something, but when the 3DS model is put in Celestia some of the faces are not present (or become transparents depending on the viewing angle). Other faces appear (that is so...

cmodtools under linux

Hi, gcc compiles 3dstocmod, but not cmodfix. I made some changes to cmodfix for it to compile. The version that compiles (and runs) on Linux can be found here: http://godard.b.free.fr/celestia/cmodfix.cpp I am working on a basic model of the FUSE spacecraft. I made the model with Blender. But I have...

Are you saying that I should checkout older versions of the shaders to fix the lightning problem?

I tested driver 5328 on Linux today. It didn't work either.

Re: linux compiling problems / KDE GUI / CVS & snapshots

I am using QT 3.3.2. I specified the directories to find both include files and libraries: ./configure --with-kde --with-qt-includes=/usr/lib/qt-3.3.2/include --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib/qt-3.3.2/lib/ but I still get the same error message while running make. Below is part of my qstring.h. class Q_...

linux compiling problems / KDE GUI / CVS & snapshots

Hi all, I got some compiling errors when building Celestia from snapshots or CVS. System: Pentium4, Slackware (current), kernel 2.6.6, X.Org 6.7.0, KDE 3.2.3, gcc 3.3.4, etc ... *celestia-cvs.20040625.tgz from http://celestia.teyssier.org/download/daily/ compiles with GLUT GUI but does not with KDE:...

Re: binary stars support status

For example, numerical integration is a big no-no in Celestia. The position of each object must be calculated with time as the only independent variable. The position of an object at any specific epoch must calculable by providing only the simulation date. It must not depend on the previous positio...

binary stars support status

Hello, I noticed that Celestia (1.3.1) doesn't seem to handle binary stars. Searching the forum, I couldn't find any interesting posts about binary stars support status, except that one of the problem with binary stars was the need for multiple light sources. Has anyone got more information? In anyc...

Re: kde interface trouble

I found an answer to my problem in this thread:

http://shatters.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2589

I copied /usr/local/share/apps/celestia/celestiaui.rc to ~/.kde/share/apps/celestia/

Now I have the full menu.

Re: Question to users who know C++

Downloaded the ?latest? celestia sources using:

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/celestia co celestia

But there is no configure script in the files I got.
How can I compile it?

Thank you.

Re: Question to users who know C++

Hi All I am not a good programmer, nor have I much time to spare, but I might be interested to do some programming for Celestia. It seems to me from some posts I read in the forum that most of the development is done on Win 32 and that the programming on Linux mainly consists in GUI devel. I'd rathe...

kde interface trouble

I have Celestia 1.3.0 on Win XP and on Slackware 9.1 (I compiled it with the kde gui: ./configure --with-kde make make install). But I have some problems with the interface for KDE. There is no Navigation menu. There is a Go menu with Go Forward Go Backward and Go Home but no Star Browser, no Eclips...

Re: incomplete arcs in Neptune rings system

The problem is not really to draw the arcs but to simulate their dynamics, which I think is not well understood and strongly influenced by Neptune's satellites and a little chaotic. I was looking through the web to find if anyone has come up with a way to tell approximatively for each arc its positi...
