Re: Technical forum information

Hi Alexell.
A little suggestion: I think it could be useful if you merge the "Announcements" by decreasing date, so to find immediately in the first position(s) the updated ones, if any.
I repeat, just a suggestion.

It's OK.JPG

Re: Exporting a Blender model with textures to the 3ds format ?

Following Selden's request, I tried to write a simple ssc for the Curiosity model uploaded here, in order to have it flat on Mars surface. Here the result. Please note that in first image 2 left wheels look like covered by sand: it's not a searched feature, I found and left it, remembering what happ...

Re: Technical forum information

Hi Alexell. First of all thanks a lot for the Celestia forum revival, very very appreciated. I've been requested (correctly) to move my post regarding the RCW-like fictional nebula actually in the Development Forum , Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X thread, to the Addons Forum . Can you please move the relat...

Re: RCW 79-3D nebula

You are right, Fenerit, I'll do it.
I've to find what's the procedure to do it.
Anyway I put it here just to follow Cham's show of his cmod sprite nebulae.

Thank you Cham, but you did most of the job!
Let me check dimensions, it will be available tomorrow here.

Added after 39 minutes 25 seconds:
Here we are.
Obviously, it's a fictional nebula, just to show the possibility to mix different ways of modelling nebulae.
Enjoy.

RCW 79-3D nebula

HI. I'm fascinated by Cham's sprites nebulae, so I tried once again an old experiment, i.e. mixing sprites and 3D nebulae. To do this, I first modified heavily Jll's RCW-79 3D model here http://celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=899 with the intention to obtain a new, fic...

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X available here

I understand, Cham, I know that Da Woon is fully involved in Celestia.sci, but just a little try?
In the worst case the reply will be "it's impossible", I suppose.
Don't you think it's worth a try, for all the windozed Celestia people?
Please......

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X available here

Thank you Cham, but you gave me bad news. Anyway, given you are in closer contact with Da Woon (aka Dirkpitt) than me, could you please ask him if there is any possibility to have that SVN compiled for Windows? There are very interesting improvements, the 64bit use of all the available memory ...

Re: Exporting a Blender model with textures to the 3ds format ?

Please, please, please! Re: Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X available here

Guillermo Abramson was performing a continuos update of windows builded Celestia SVNs. I just checked his web page, but the last release is still the svn5063 (+fading orbits, +new star rendering), dated 2010-11-01, here: http://fisica.cab.cnea.gov.ar/estadistica/abramson/celestia/svnexec/ Nothing mo...
