You can use planets as gravity assits, like Ulysses did with: it went to Jupiter and used Jupiter to change its inclination, ending on a polar orbit around the sun...

Re: NEW: Rigel Kentaurus A & B, mars ice texture.

Re: questions about optics

1) When stars are viewed through a telescope, they appear as discs of different radii. Is the radius the star's real radius, or is it just a function of the stars brightness? First of all, no they dont appear as disk, and if they appear as disk, they shouldnt. As far as I know, the only telescope I...

But besides from that optical effect, there is something else: the...

Does Pluto have day and night?

Because its very ver far from the sun, I dont think it recieves much light from it, so does it really have a day and a night or are they almost the same(very very dark day and night)?
And what about Uranus and Neptune?

Re: Polaris aka Alrukaba

Google is your friend :) http://home.t-online.de/home/OlafAmelsberg/astb-umi.htm Though that page is german, so you might not understand it. From what I can gather from my unfeasibly limited understanding of German, the page claims that Polaris is arabic for the german word "Knie". Apparent that me...
