Re: A very nice Cassini image of Enceladus

Christophe, for proper normalmaps you need independent elevation measurements . I.e. one cannot derive normalmaps from standard textures by means of some software algorithms. If these independent measurements are lacking, there is no substitute, really. We have agreed a long time ago that we shall ...

One more thing we need here... A production line of normal maps... (I know, easy to say...)

Re: New Mir space station model (DOWNLOAD LINK)

Cham, even if it looks very nice if compared to the actually available one, IMHO it looks like a..."plastic model". :( Moreover there are inaccuracies all around. I think that if Christophe will have some free time and will decide to apply it to this project, he could use a lot of stuff f...

Re: New SF models (DOWNLOAD LINK)

I was wrong all along! the cmodtool never weld vertices without normal generation... That's perhaps why I was so confuse with texture seam... So 1.04 is just ok, so is the model!

[On Hold] Again, not really a bug but...

I wanted to upgrade the default asteroid texture by a dds of mine but I get a lil' problem: Image-2.jpg The model show some transparency effect... I guess it's related to the use of a cms model as default. Also if one want to add a normal map for a better default rendering seems it's not possible. S...

Re: New SF models (DOWNLOAD LINK)

What's the hell with this 1.04! One need to generate normals to be able to weld vertices! In previous versions both options were independent! The model do pass the weld but the tool like this is useless to me... :| This tool has several limitations, indeed. Especially about smoothing... The problem...

Re: Pluto Orbit Confusion

Chuft, Bob, are you saying you don't have the orbit of Pluto-Charon on a clean fresh build? (without messing with previous old data files, etc...)
(also, reminder, it's not anymore a planet but a dwarf planet...)

While it's ok for you to release such SVN versions you should continue. I'm sure many people will appreciate the effort.
Perso I do my own osX build, but anyway Tx!
