Re: Realigning John van Vliet's Mercury texture: how?

Hey ! Bob IS BACK ! :D Nice to see you back, Bob, I was wondering ... Don't let yer nipples get too hard... Sorry, but I've been very ill. Won't be around much longer but I still love exploring the universe when I can. Thanks for the remembrance. Love ALL of you space nuts. Take care, Bob

Just FYI

I have already adjusted the 2k Mercury texture so that it now accurately reflects the locations it depends on for my simple tour of Mercury. Don't know if anyone even cares or not, but I'll upload the revised Mercury zip package to the CML later tonight. The original texture needed to be offset by a...

GRS Junior

Has anyone else noticed that Jupiter is growing another Great Red Spot? I've revised my version of Dr. Schrempp's Jupiter texture to show the new feature, but I was just curious to know if anyone else has examined the new spot yet. see it at http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire_collection/pr20...

Just wanted to add MY two cents worth here...

Many thanks Vincent. Your enhancements to Celestia are very much
appreciated by some of us.

Take care, Bob

Re: Vincent's Overlay function

Just one further aside here... If we don't get these enhancements in an official release, then we're given a choice of simply doing without, or downloading and installing a completely separate version of the same program. Again, just my opinion, but I personally think that Vincent's additions are wo...

Vincent's Overlay function

Would just like to say how MUCH I'd like to see Vincent's overlay function incorporated into the official Celestia releases. Don't know if you realize it or not, but the image overlays are a fantastic way to install another dimension into planetary tours and other scripts. In other words, a scripter...

Re: About labels

Just thought I'd mention that the MARK function will not work within either CEL or CELX if the location you're trying to mark is not referenced somewhere in an accessible locations .SSC file. In other words, if you do not have a MarsMoonLocs.ssc file on your system to describe where the locations on...

Re: Jupiter rings

My pleasure...

I'm actually trying to work on some new scripts, but since I'm also
working about 60 hours a week, it's been rather slow in the making.

I'll get there eventually.

Thanks, Bob

Just go to the Motherlode and download the extended Jupiter tour
from the Scripts section. It has what you want, I believe.

Thanks, Bob

Re: Apologies for the downtime

Thanks for the explanation sir... Just so you know about it though, you were SORELY MISSED. Darn, you'd think that I might find something in my own neighborhood which might attract my interests. If not said often enough, MANY THANKS for this spectacular application. Just FYI, I'm also in the process...

Re: troubles with h-res jupiter jpg

You'll need to explain what the actual problem is first. Also, if you are having trouble, you simply must include the details of your operating system, graphics card, if any, and software version of Celestia and operating system. If you could include this information, the geniuses here can almost ce...

Re: Celestia Educational Activities - 2006 - now with SOUND

If I may here, Good Doctor... I disagree with your disagreement. With all respect , sir. Mr. Gregorio has devoted probably over a thousand hours to his educational activities and has offered to send these to dial-up users, or others too lazy to spend the time it takes to download these sizeable pack...

Re: I'm BACK!

Well, to be honest with you Ulrich... I don't have the brains it takes to script something in CELX yet, but I'd really like to expore some more of the universe using the talents that I do have. I wish to revise/re-write the planet tours, as well as add some touring of some of the more interesting pl...

Re: Resurrection?

Ah... As always, thanks Selden. I don't really understand the need for maintenance though. If the ring has been set up already - and if the server it runs on is operating - what's to maintain? I understand that new members or revisions would require some work, but shouldn't the existing sites still ...

Re: Resurrection?

Well I'd certainly be interested in joining the ring.

I went to a number of the existing webring sites (Those with the
Celestia Webring Logo still displayed on the pages) and found
that none of the links work now. What happened to the old
webring?

Thanks, Bob

Re: Saturn(ish) higher resolution map (warning: big graphic)

Here is my real point I want to make: Again, I tend to observe an increasing "flatness" in the posts that appeared in the forum, recently. Very little substantial material anymore. So I think we should be as receptive and grateful of any more "in depth" contributions with REAL SUBSTANCE"! No argume...

I'm Back... Sorry, didn't know where else to post this, so move it if you like, Selden. Just wanted to let the Celestia Community know that I'm finally BACK ON the WEB at http://home.fuse.net/BobHegwood/ .
