Sorry...

Was a feeble attempt at humor, and as you can see in my subsequent post,
I even encouraged the prospect of adding audio to Celestia.

Sheesh! You people have no sense of humor do you?

Re: cant run celestia now iv downed addons

Well, here's another thing you might try... Rename the directory of your current Celestia installation to something else like "OldCelestia." Then, try re-installing the whole package from scratch. This approach should certainly repair any errors which you may have inadvertently introduced into your ...

Re: CELESTIA!

You've been invited numerous times to provide examples of what you would expect from such a wonderfully free program, and all you can do is attempt to impress us with your comp stats, and remark on how your time has been horribly wasted. It occurs to me that perhaps our time is being wasted here. Y...

Re: CELESTIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read that you are from Massachusetts. Is this in the US? I heard they are having a famous university there. Called MIT or so. Ever been there? This gentleman? would be what I'd call a typical MIT graduate... This is why I'm so "paranoid" and "brain-dead" when I get next to MIT graduates. Admitted...

Re: CELESTIA!

Terrorbyte... I am very sorry you feel that way. However, I must ask... What the hell do you want for nothing ? My mind boggles here. I have paid good money for a multitude of astronomy and science programs which have nowhere near the capability to explore the Universe as Celestia does. Some add-ons...

Re: Stellarium

Hi Bob, I have no screenshots in it yet, but in my 'liens/links' page under construction in my catalog, I had quoted a lot of nice astonomic, astronautic or planetary simulators... Had a look there Jeam... Merci! By the way, your url should be as follows. The one you quoted above got screwed up som...

Re: Stellarium

Fridger, Looks like a very nice program to me... Even works very nicely on my under-powered machine too. What's really nice about the program though, is that you can set your location on Planet Earth, and then you can view a very nice representation of the stars and planets as visible from your part...

Any information on how close it will come to the Moon?

Looks like that will be a close call too.

Re: Sound

I'm not looking at this from the point of the Celestia program, which is great. Okay, was just curious... You'd like to make an educational presentation with Celestia as the springboard, yes? Must admit that it would make for a very nice educational resource. In my opinion, anything which can get a...

Why all the fuss about sound in Celestia?

I am very sorry if the impression arose above that I indended to make anti-american statements. Doctor Schrempp, As a disabled American veteran, I didn't infer any anti-Americanisms in your statements. You're probably correct about the source of most spam though... Here, in the good old USA, the do...

Just a thought here Bennyboy,

What your seeing here is Celestia's attempt to render the comet's tail...

If you don't wish to view it, just press CTRL-T to turn comet tail-rendering
either on or off.

Hope that helps...

Okay... Let me just say once again that I'm sorry for over-reacting if that is what I did. The point is that I spent many, many hours working on this script so that it might provide some education and some entertainment to others. I have no problems with criticism... What the hell is it with people here, that they take every comment and criticism about their work so bloody personally? Sorry, I didn't mean to take it that way, but since you know nothing about scripting, you were criticizing me for doing things that I had valid reasons for doing. Re: New Tour of Mercury is now available.

First, my turn to be brain-dead about something - can you fast-forward scripts at all? Or is it possible for you to tell us somewhere in the readme file how long the script takes to run to completion? Or is that there already and I'm just being blind? Could tell you in the readme.txt file, but I ju...
