Celestia used for image in scientific publication for solar

An image that looks like it was made with Celestia (added text says it is Celestia sun) shows an image of the sun that looks very much like the one in Celestia.

Re: HTML5 Planetarium and Celestia integration ?

Have you asked the developers of Planetarium to develop it further?
You will also need to implement more data formats and other features to use it as Celestia, not just OpenGL 3d objects.

Re: CELX Feature question.

The license means that you should put a copy of the source in the downloads. Not just let the users download only an executable.

Interesting.

@xyz
What if you would make the record video functionality a separate thread?
you know, putting the encoding in a separate thread of execution.

Doors you can't always know everything.

Your missing understandings seem to be because you don't understand well what the things you are using are or do.

Re: Patches that need testing

After reading the information about the video capture I would say. - making it work and correctly formatted to be able to read by linux players is something that we really want. - we can use libtheora on all platforms and if we need to be sure include it and rely as little as possible on platform li...

Re: 64bit and multi-threading

64 bit is a more pressing issue since: - conversion is possible so decently written, modern code can be compiled for 32 or 64 bit without recoding stuff. - most people who buy a computer now have a 64 bit processor and a 64 bit version of Windows - compatibility things like this should have a higher...

Re: Core i5 or Core i7?

I've also heard the i5 have a very weak integrated graphics processor.
Try to avoid that. Because it's a waste of silicon.

Re: Human gesture-based user interface for Celestia

The operating system and drivers actually transform human gestures into actions. Graphical User Interface elements need to be adapted for this. Since the Celestia Developers work with a graphical toolkit. You're going to have to wait for that to be adapted.

Celestia needs an internal way to change the language.

Also, you should also update your Vista to SP2.

Re: Chrome Web App?

Chrome OS is basically a Linux distribution with some heavy remodelling in the user space libraries.

You could maybe make a dual-boot with ubuntu or some other distribution and run Celestia from the non-Chrome OS one.
