Re: Council of Giants (Marks and ring of the Local Sheet)

where did that purple background come from?
(ik i am late)

Hi Trappist, the purple background is the Planck's CMB customized with Gimp since the official red version of Planck web page to be more friendly to view in my program and avoid an annoying visual disturb, lol :smoke:

GN-Z11 galaxy using Cham's Sprite Nebulae models

GN-Z11 is a galaxy with a radius of 2000ly. GN-z11 is currently the oldest and most distant known galaxy in the observable universe (near to universe bubble border) about the redshift z=11,1 (13,4 gigayears ago) or just 400 million years after the Big Bang. I've created this addon based in Pablo Car...

Selden Ball's Graticules and Redshift customized to my Celestia

Hi people: This addon is because a request of Art Blos in post of Ajtribick stars addon. Is a custom adaptation of the original addon of Graticules and Redshift of Selden Ball to see ecuatorial, galactic, ecliptic and local sheet lines since the sky of the earth and to see distances out of the solar...

Re: Updated stars.dat including Gaia DR2 data (update 2020-11-30)

I've released a new version v1.0.4 which uses relative parallax error to choose between Gaia DR2 and XHIP parallaxes (this affects the cases of Alpha Cas and Delta Sgr mentioned by DrJMOS, they should be back at more reasonable distances). This affects 1787 stars out of a total 2499574. There's als...

No, but this should be fairly straightforward to implement. I leave it as an exercise for the reader :)

Hi Ajtribick You will see a result with 1 row. There is a small icon which looks like a table, which shows a tooltip "Display top 2000 results". Click it. Take a look at the value in the r_est column, which contains the estimated distance in parsecs. ventana2.png ventana1.png ...is done me...

Re: Extrasolar Planets (updated catalogue)

If you find an error in my code, or that the orbit parameters I am using for a particular extrasolar planet are incorrect. Definitely let me know. Another potential source of error would be a bad value for the luminosity of the star -- likely due to an incorrect radius or temperature input. The lat...
