Re: Project Sisyphus - Texturing/painting every exoplanet known

Gliese 9482, a.k.a HIP 70849

This system is comprised of a very wide binary of a K-type star and a brown dwarf, and there is one planet in this system and it orbits the K-type star.

The planet, Gliese 9482 Ab, with faint rings.

HD 45166

This addon adds HD 45166, an exotic binary system containing a B-type star and what is called a quasi-WR star, which is a WR-like star, but less extreme and less massive, as it is formed through the stripping of its outer layers, like blue subdwarfs. HD 45166 A is still reasonably bright, actually b...

Re: Trolligi's other addons

This is my 4th version of the galactic WR stars addon. I think it adds WR 20, 24, 35, 39, 52, 60, 61, 62, 67, 77f, 77n A, 77n B, 82, 87, 89, 90, 94, 100, 101-2, 102c, 105, 111, 111-13, 120, 133 A, 133 B, 134, 135, 138a, and 142a.

no it actually is

wait, that's not true. WR 30a A was classified as a WO4 under the same criteria which classifies BA 1-458 as a WO4. So yeah it is a WO4, it was just that day I was feeling a bit tired.

yeah so BA 1-458 isn't a WO

I finally persuaded myself that BA 1-458 isn't a WO star. As you may know, I have a bias towards WO stars and I convinced myself that BA 1-458 is a WO star through telling myself it is a WO because the new classifications say so. Though, the VIIth catalog of galactic WR stars references older classi...

Re: Exoplanet Misconceptions

There are a lot of objects that the public thinks are planets but are actually brown dwarfs. J1407 b is a good example. It has 20 jupiter masses, but a lot of people consider it a planet, while it is actually a brown dwarf. Oph 11 b and DENIS J0823-4912 b are other examples of this, and anything wit...

Daly, one of your assets (the night texture) originates from CelWP and was made by me on the 29th of may last year. (For the brown dwarf Auwei) Please change it, it's on wikipedia now. lol

3 Late Thermal Pulse Stars

This small addon adds 3 late thermal pulse stars, stars which have passed the AGB stage and are going through a small flash of fusion before they actually die. About a quarter of all AGB stars go through this phase. The 3 stars (Sakurai's Object, FG Sagittae and V605 Aquillae) are all quite differen...

Updated wostars.stc

I updated wostars.stc, adding in correct statistics (and possible ones for LMC195-1) for the now 12 WO stars (except [HC2007] 31).

OAO 1657-415

This is OAO 1657-415, a high-mass X-ray binary between a neutron star of 1.42 solar masses and an Ofpe/WN9 star of 14.3 solar masses. It is located over 23,000 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius.

This addon took no time to make, lol.

Apep

Finally, after over 9 months, I made an addon for Apep. It's a trinary system composed of a central Wolf-Rayet star binary (WC7d+WN4b), orbited by an outer B type supergiant. Well, actually the WR binary technically orbits the B supergiant, considering that the two WRs combined are almost certainly ...

Alright, now I finally have the statistics to make the Apep system. The stars are done (with separate textures), now I need to figure out how to make this nebula.

Re: Trolligi's other addons

This .stc file (contained in the .zip file) adds 10 WC stars (with parameters, of course) to the Large Magellanic Cloud. 7 of them are WC4 stars (one being in a binary) and 3 of them are WC5s.

As I find more and more science papers, expect an update to this soon.

TOI-709

This is a system containing a very hot blue subdwarf orbited by an unconfirmed neptune-sized exoplanet. The planet orbits the star every 32 days.

This system was identified just over 7 months ago.

The planet and the star, to scale.

Re: Project Sisyphus - Texturing/painting every exoplanet known

OGLE-2016-BLG-1195L This system is comprised of an extremely low-mass star just above the red dwarf-brown dwarf limit, orbited by an earth-mass exoplanet at over an AU away. Temperatures are obviously going to be very low on this planet. (They are around -246°C) OGLE-2016-BLG-1195L was discovered t...
