Re: 3D Earth's Geological Features

This add-on replace and supersede the previous, location based. All data cames from: http://www.ig.utexas.edu/research/projects/lips/index.htm MAJOR CHANGES: - 3d models; - correct hotspots locations accordingly to the link above; - add "volcano" Type for hotspots; - add more trench and f...

When you reckon for the next update? Thanks.

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

I think you'll have to use the model that ships with Celestia. There is a site on the web that tracks the ISS and I was able to translate the parameters to the ISS ssc quite easily, although on a three times a week basis because of 'drift'. This was a while ago now and I haven't kept it up. I'm jus...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

Don't think it's necessary now, I have been advised there are none other than 4 ssc files that would require modification. Four! That would be a nightmare to update given the orbit data changes almost daily. I see there are a lot of very smart and knowledgeable people associated with Celestia. Is th...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

No joy on the notepad edit. Just as before. The unedited ssc file for the model displays ok just not with the correct orbit. Searching for the default (Celestia's) ISS works fine even with it's ssc file edited to produce the correct orbit. So, with the default ISS in the extras-standard folder, and ...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

Chuft-Captain I will give it a go but I’ve just realised that I edit the default ISS.ssc file using MS Word and that works fine. Guckytos That was a cut and paste job from the initial part of the file, there is a lot more to the file that I did not include because – as far as I’m aware – it is not r...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

Thanks, I'll look into that and get back. I'm using Windows 7 and MS Word which does give me a formatting pop-up choice when I save following the edit. Not sure what it's doing, I just click "Yes" so that is saves. So it looks like something is going on there.

If in order to reply, you are composing a new message and then entering the username, then you are probably misspelling it. You either can click on the "Find a member" link to find the correct username, but better still, just click on the reply button at the bottom of the received message...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

Please post your modified SSC file (enclosed in code tags) so that we can see what you're doing wrong. It's a bit hard for anyone to help if we cannot see exactly what you've done. Below is the portion of Linuxman's ISS.ssc file that is the focus of the modification process (to create the orbit hel...

Please can you explain what you mean here? Thanks.

I have the "earth_geology" folder in my Celestia extras folder. Are you saying I can add a legend to it?

You said: Is there a way to sync up to the real-time orbit position? which in Celestia is done by going to the object and pressing the Y key. Please describe exactly what it is you want to do. To " sync up to the real-time orbit position " has a specific meaning in Celestia related to the...

Re: Nasa ISS model hightly detailled

Is there a way to sync up to the real-time orbit position? I can manage it with the old ISS.ssc file by editing the relevant parameters (epoch, eccentricity, etc) however when I try this with this new ISS.ssc file I lose the ISS altogether and have to put the original .ssc file back. Excellent mode...

how to sync a real-time orbit with that awesome ISS model that's available, woud you? (http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13360&start=120#p122203) It's .ssc file is not accepting the usual edit... If you mean making the simulated movement of the model ISS reflect the a...

Re: 3D Earth's Geological Features

Can you help? I am running your "earth geology" script but am not seeing any names or any legend, just dots and lines on the Earth's surface. All the sub folders and their data are in my extras folder but the script does not seem to be running them. Looks a good add-on too. Thanks!

How do you turn fading on/off? I have solid line orbits and can find no reference to fading and orbit paths in 1.6.0. Thanks. Hi, Scroll.
