Re: cel script: Is it possible to print text from another file using index?

You're welcome, In theory, this should have been some pretty standard lua/Celx scripting, but I struggled for a few hours trying to get the script to recognize the LUA file. I do like a challenge, but this turned out to be more difficult than I expected, and seemingly intractable. Luckily I discover...

Parduz, This works in Windows. lesson.lua: -- lesson.lua -- -- This file is provided by the student and needs to be -- placed in the "lua" sub-folder before running the Showlesson.celx script. -- NOTE: -- You will have to restart Celestia if the content changes in this file. --- -- Structu...

Re: Lagrange Points 1.x for Celestia 1.6.1 - release thread

My team of "Translation Elves" have been working hard (not at the north pole, but in France, Italy, The Netherlands, and the Ukraine), so that version 1.1 can now be released just in time for Christmas! Happy Christmas everyone! DOWNLOAD V 1.1: ccLagrange_v1_10.zip Extract the ZIP to a tem...

Thanks Alexell,

Good to know that. Will that BETA be 32bit/64bit or both?

Cheers

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Janus, Thanks for letting me know about the signature. Unfortunately, I have not been able to fix that ever since the forum became more restrictive about links in signatures. I get an error: "You cannot use certain BBCodes: [url]" now whenever I try to edit the sig. My sig is a hangover fr...

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Janus, What I do know is that the original sourceforge repository AFAIK followed good CC conventions (had TAG's for main releases, branches, etc.) From what I understand it's been moved onto github now. I don't know if versioning TAG's were preserved in the switch (in fact I haven't even looked at i...

Re: How to generate 20 million stars for a spiral galaxy?

I wonder if the tools here: https://sourceforge.net/p/celestia/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/celestia/src/tools/stardb/ could be used to convert Cham's Andromeda STC into a DAT file?

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Janus, Thanks for the detailed history. From what you say, it sounds like the celestia-x64.exe ("old code") does not include all 1.6.1 era code. Do you know if the "VS2017" ("new code") ... ie. celestia17-x64.exe ... was also branched from 1.6.0 era code? If so, then it...

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Selden, Thanks for your response, however I must apologise for wasting your time. Yes you are correct regarding the Intel Graphics (mine's HD4000). This issue has been around for years now, and I was aware of that, which is why I use "fuzzy points" as my default star setting. I wasn't putt...

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Hi Janus, Thanks for the exe's! I'm a little confused by exactly what each one represents in terms of functionality... All of the exe files should be 1.7.0 versioned. If that's the case, what's the difference between celestia-x64.exe and celestia17-x64.exe ? I had assumed that the first was simply 1...

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Thanks Janus, For whom it may concern... I've found a couple of bugs already. 1. The VS2013 1.6.1 version ( celestia-x64.exe ) crashes if I try to display the ABOUT screen. 2. The VS2013 1.7 version (celestia17-x64.exe) initially seemed to have some sort of problem with either LUA-execution or simul...

Re: New 64 bit 1.7 version suggestions and bugs

Would someone please advise me of current location and status of 64bit build source files, and any specific build instructions/caveats. The file provided by Janus above looks like it might be a 64bit executable, but I was unable to extract it, so I might have to have a go at building it instead. Che...

Re: FOV jumps

Yes, FOV normally changes in a minimal way whenever the window is resized, depending on how extreme the resizing is, and obviously occurs in an extreme way when restoring from minimized. I haven't used the scenarios you describe (split screen etc) for a while, but I'm not at all surprised that this ...

Re: FOV jumps

I've seen that many times in the past, and it's been around since forever (non sim time), and like you I have the D key mapped to a script (which sets FOV to 45deg in my case). For me this only happens when... Celestia is already minimized to the system tray: min.jpg and I then click on a celURL. Fo...

Re: A Brief Question Of Time

CM1215, Sadly no. The demo script's first command is: "timerate { rate 0 }" (the CEL equivalent of celestia:settimescale( 0 ) . By hitting ESC, you just exit the script, and whatever timerate was set by the script is retained, but thank you because your example DOES demonstrate the problem...

A Brief Question Of Time

Hi guys, Anyone know if it's possible to interactively STOP time in Celestia? Before everyone responds " use the SPACEBAR idiot! ", I'm NOT talking about simply "pausing" simulation. I'm talking about setting the timescale to zero. There's a subtle difference. One is simply pausi...
