Re: fyr02's NDP Worldbuilding Project

DOUBLE RELEASE GO GET THE SYSTEMS NOW Gosh, this (particularly Koradeon) took longer than it should have. Repeated delays and scrapped system ideas really bogged down the creative process and made everything slower. This release is still nowhere near as polished as my own vision of the system but gi...

Re: fyr02's NDP Worldbuilding Project

Sorry for not posting anything, but I should have one or two systems out soon. They should be fairly small, Koradeon is close to rerelease but I keep redesigning it :P

Re: Exoplanet Misconceptions

Things to know about: in general planetary habitability is much more complicated than this. currently its not know what conditions will foster life outside of those on earth. current research suggests that active m dwarfs may still be able to hold on to some atmosphere but rn m dwarf habitability i...

Re: Pictures from Celestia

I should mention that the brightness of TrES-2 b is heavily exaggerated here.
Albedo is not linear to brightness - because the way the eye perceives light is not linear, TrES-2 b would appear (adjusting for distance to star) a comfortable dark gray - nowhere near the black in the picture.

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2021

Since the exoplanets catalog is based off of Sirius's Exoplanet Catalog, whenever the exoplanets database is updated the Barnard's star planets will have been already removed.

Re: Exoplanet Misconceptions

It states even with a commonly understandable albedo of 0.0136 (1.36%), the best fit model measurement shows an albedo of 0.0004 (0.04%) This source is from 2011. SevenSpheres's source is from 2012 and is newer. The most recent source that I can find is from Schwartz and Cohen (2015) , which gives ...

That data is part of a number of simulations of atmospheres.
it's not real data, since the composition of TRAPPIST-1 e's atmosphere is unknown, but it's simulated based off of a likely atmospheric composition.

Re: fyr02's Addons

This is because I stopped developing that system. I finished a preliminary version, but I'm not happy with it, so I didn't post it. However, development of the TRAPPIST-1 system stopped when I shelved a lot of addons / projects in order to develop CelWP/NDP And unfortunately right now I don't have a...

In reality the moons of Mars are actually gray in color, not brown.

Re: High res Ultima Thuli (Arrokoth) model?

that model needs to be a bit flatter expeccily th bigger side (look at the 3d asteroid catalogue model Spencer et al. (2020) modelled Arrokoth and found that Arrokoth is probably not as flat as originally expected, hence why this model is not as flat. The one at the 3d asteroid catalogue is outdated.

Re: Procedural texture generation in Celestia?

Yes, the problem with this is that it just means we have to find more textures.
In addition, this may present a problem for the lower-end computers, so this may not be viable

fyr02's NDP Worldbuilding Project

Re: Create an official .cmod plugin for Blender and other applications

There exists a plugin to convert from any model to cmod through the program anim8or. I don't know where it is but I've been using it for a while, in which you can convert like this:

model --> Blender --> obj --> Anim8or --> cmod

Re: Should we reply to the WOW! Signal?

The paper certainly is interesting. However, after reading Caballero's paper, you can clearly see many flaws in his logic and methodology, which means that this paper is doing bad science, and should probably not be trusted - I highly doubt the Wow! signal came from the source he identified. This &q...
