Re: Vision's Addons

No, he's just the only active member who does make black hole addons. In fact I made a version of the Cygnus X-1 addon with a proper black hole definition. I said that in the context that SVision is the one who usually makes Black Holes. A few others have done so but only once or twice, and they mo...

Re: Vision's Addons

I've become something of a black hole lord of Celestia, though I'm supposed to be doing exoplanets Actually, it's better if you do Black Hole addons from now on if you want. Many people have been making exoplanet addons, and as such, it is too common. Whereas in Black Holes, few have made addons bu...

Re: Vision's Addons

That's alright. I yearn to visit other universes yet our own universe isn't fully explored in its entirely either. So, we should take little cosmic steps first.

Re: bragging: celestia picture of the hour

Post deleted. I was the one who approved it, since it was seemingly related to the topic at hand. My bad. But then again, "Cosmic turd" does sound accurate, if without the rudeness i create new images as they get used up. the generator virtual machine is started every 3-4 days, as needed. ...

Re: Vision's Addons

Wikipedia usually has accurate information, and it sources everything. It's probably a good idea to mention sources for data in Celestia addons, too. Still doesn't make it the most reliable source. I use it just for a quick read but if I really wanted to seriously delve into information regarding t...

Re: bragging: celestia picture of the hour

ust a little bit of bragging if you don't mind. i just finished a new little feature on my blog, a random image made with celestia, changing by the hour. this is done with an amazon ec2 instance generating a bunch of images at a time using a lua script. the instance is summoned to life automaticall...

Re: Vision's Addons

Yes This black hole really exists. You can even read about it on Wikipedia under "NGC 1600 Galaxy" or NASA. Yep. I did my research as well. However, according to Wikipedia, its mass is actually 17 billion MSol. But then again, Wikipedia is a doubtful source, so obviously, don't change the...

Re: Vision's Addons

NGC 1600 galaxy group and Behemoth In the far spherical (class E3) galaxy NGC 1600 there is a...very massive black hole. Its mass is 18.5 billion MSol That's quite a lot to agree on. Although there are monsters bigger than this black hole This space demon has been given the unofficial name of Behem...

Re: Vision's Addons

Now, SevenSpheres, Lafuente_Astronomy, if we wish to discuss this further (which I'd be more than happy to), we should do so via PM (if that is allowed). I don't think PM allows more than 2 participants however. If you want more members to make their arguments, just make a new topic. Otherwise, Id ...

Re: Vision's Addons

Not in six literal days. My intent wasn't to argue about religion (which would be against the forum rules!), but to explain that CM1215's statement wasn't logically valid. If he had said: There are several Christian(Particularly Protestant) denominations that literally believe that GOD made the wor...

Re: Vision's Addons

Not at all. There is a great deal of evidence against Young Earth Creationism and for an old age of Earth and the Universe, but the multiverse theory, while not (yet) testable, is certainly plausible. AS much as there are a lot of interesting stuff to argue about, I'd rather not derail the original...

Re: Vision's Addons

The multiverse is literally "everything we could never see". It is above and beyond the natural, hence it should be described as "supernatural". Believing that the multiverse exists is equivalent to believing God created the universe in six 24-hour days (which I believe He did)....

Re: Vision's Addons

Good offer! I support Actually... Maybe later... It would be great to implement (on such a scale) a multiverse. Or try. It would be great to admit, although the presence of other universes is not proven, however, and not denied However...in "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix" there is a lot...

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated August 30, 2019

I know it may not be funny to others, but Arrokoth sounds like Cthulhu's goth niece to me. Should grow out of it in an Epoch or two. Sorry about being somewhat off topic, but I needed a laugh, wanted to share. Janus. I also kinda sounds like Kakaroth, which if I remember, is the Dragon Ball protag ...

Re: Vision's Addons

Okay, it's Janus' 1 Gly build. I have a pull request open for the same thing, so this will be in default Celestia too. I think the 100 GLY render limit for both stars and galaxies would be better, so that anyone can have immense enough space to create new galaxies beyond the Observable Universe, an...

Re: Vision's Addons

I don't have any additional information Apparently you're right, and it's "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix" that allows me to fly to a really deep universe Yeah, I actually do have the same exact commit here: Celestia -5441.png In fact, maybe we should also consider some of Janus' addons,...

Re: Vision's Addons

Here's my version of Celestia. Based from the picture, you do appear to be using a commit called "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix", which if I remember, is a Janus commit, am I right? Is that specific commit the one allowing you to place objects further than the star render limit for Cele...

Okay, you're using the same version as me, so can you confirm that my STC and/or Vision's addon do not work? Edit: Yeah, the screenshot is in Russian, should have realized it was from Vision. I could ask Vision which version of Celestia 1.7.0 is using. But it would be better if he sees this part of...

Re: Pulsars database update (DOWNLOAD LINK)

Joey P., there is no need to post this in a >10 year old thread. These textures/models can't be included in default Celestia because they aren't free use, and as I said Celestia Origin's texture-less neutron stars are probably more accurate to what we would see. SevenSpheres , he always does that, ...
