Re: Hypothetical: Specific Rogue planet. When could be its discovery date given its orbital, size, and albedo parameters?

The rogue planet itself would had likely been discovered in the 1970s or 1980s, with the discovery survey likely being the Catalina Sky Survey (limiting magnitude: +21.5). Its moons would had likely been found at around the time Hubble was first operational, so around the early-to-mid 1990s.

For non-gamers, its like having many variants of the same thing. For example, CO has around a dozen variants of jovian textures, from Pioneer 10/11 in the 70s, to Juno and Hubble today.

Re: Project Sisyphus - Texturing/painting every exoplanet known

The first directly imaged protoplanetary system: PDS 70 Sisyphus-PDS70.png Jeez, this one took seemingly forever! Since i dont really know how to describe such a complex system in few words, i will do Wikipedia to do the work: The star has a protoplanetary disk containing two nascent exoplanets, na...

Re: Pictures from Celestia

Trappist, that's enough. Could you please be on topic and post "Pictures from Celestia", like the title of this thread says and like what I'm about to do, instead of pestering everyone to release their stuff in 5 seconds?

Go back on topic, please... How many low-quality messages are we going to need monitoring of, in order to make progess in improving the forums?

And there's no need for that, everyone knows that Avi Loeb's research is dumb.

Also could you please stop making soo many irrelevant threads? Its hurting the forum's signal-to-noise ratio!

Nope, that's literally hard-coded into Celestia 1.6.1 (and maybe 1.6.2?).

I just don't understand the rationality of the development. Then why are you criticizing it if you don't understand them? 1.) We ALL LOVE Celestia, we should be ONE community. ...we already ARE one community? 2.) We ALL want to use new features and more scientific options and new eye candies. inser...

Re: Merging Cosmonium with Celestia?

I'm not sure, the two projects use vastly different programming languages (one is mainly C++ and the other is Phyton+Panda3D), so compatibility issues will arise all over the place.

Real Nebulae in the Pisces Dwarf

I had always been a bit hesitant on making real-object addons for the Pisces Dwarf (aka LGS 3), since SIMBAD didnt list any children for it, and VizieR querys were a bit out of the question... until now! I present to you: Pisces Dwarf - Real Nebulae What even are their positions anyway? unknown.png ...

They still work on 1.6.2. I rarely use the version, but from what i had seen from other people (and my fellow Mac users), it works just fine!
