Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

toutatis, in case you've forgotten, we are looking for a Stardust addon that utilizes both models that you've made. I'm sure that such an addon won't take long to make, so if you could do that, we'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Try going into Celestia and pressing CTRL+V.

selden, can you use that same method to try to uncover Runar Thorvaldsen's "Postcards from Titan" addon?

I don't believe I do.

Re: Old addons that are no longer available for download

I downloaded an 8k Ganymede Normal map off the Motherlode many years ago, and it has since been removed.

I can't remember for sure who made it (my guess is John Van Vliet), but I can understand why the creator removed it, as it is a bit unrealistic.

Here it is:

Re: Hi-res Ganymede texture

SpaceFanatic64 , the first version of Celestia Origin contained a 16k VT surface texture & an 8k (I think) normal map of Ganymede. These textures have been replaced, however, as of the December 30th release (v.2). The surface texture was replaced with an 8k variant, and the normal map was repla...

I agree. If you could do this, toutatis, it would be great!

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

All is possible with good plugins. jujuapapa , there is no plugin for Blender or Anim8or that allows you to directly open CMOD files. As for this Unwrap3D that you speak of, I don't know for sure, but I'm doubtful. However, there are plugins for Blender and Anim8or that allow you to expor...

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

A cmod file can not be converted back to 3ds (to my knowledge). It's a dead end. There is only one program I know of that can convert from a CMOD file to other model files: a program called 3D Object Converter. The only problem is that it costs 50 USD for the registered version, and the program is ...

In this photo, it's 100% clear what colors TESS has: This photo clearly shows that the upper part of the TPP with gold foil, the lower part with silver foil: But that picture is only a replica... This picture is of the actual TESS: TESS_with_techs_high_res.jpg As you can see, it's nearly all silver.

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

toutatis , not to be a complainer, but there are a couple problems I've found with your fix of the Compton GRO model. Firstly, there is a leftover 2D textured rectangle floating disconnected from the main spacecraft...this shouldn't be there. What.jpg Secondly, the section of parts that were moved ...

Re: Black texture error on 3d mesh

I've found that a similar problem occurs when I try to view a 16k texture or higher in the 32 bit Celestia 1.6.1, as it's simply not powerful enough render it, despite it being right on the specified texture size limit in the OpenGL Info window. It may be a problem with your new computer. Is it more...

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia

Toutatis, on your alternative Compton GRO model, the long pole with the High Gain Antenna is on the wrong side of the craft.
