Re: Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars

Hi, I know I'm a bit late, but also very confused. I certainly remember a "Extrasolar, Stars and Exoplanets for Celestia" thread started by gironde. What happened to that thread? I believe it was merged into this thread with the "Populating WLM (and other galaxies) with REAL stars&qu...

One more thing: I don't suppose you could made a Janus map based on Cassini and Voyager imaging, could you?

Re: Solar System Objects for Celestia

@fyr02 I've heard of a program called "Substance Painter" which allows you to "paint" a mesh. I've seen what it looks like (although never used it myself), and it looks like what you might need to make a Helene texture (as well as fix the pole problems on previous textures). Also...

RyuguShape.PNG

These are some good models! By the way, it appears the "3M Polygon" model does not actually have 3 million polygons.

Thanks for sharing this link with us.

Torrents are NOT illegal. Copyright violations are illegal. Sharing an open source software is perfectly legal. He never said that they were illegal. He said that their reputation for being USED FOR illegal things will scare most into not using them. I agree with @SpaceFanatic64...I'd rather not us...

Hi john71,

Try pressing V until they disappear. If they are on Lua Edu Tools, press CTRL + I.

I have a request for anyone with the software capable of doing this:

Can someone convert the attached CMOD file to an OBJ file?

Note: The original model is from the Motherlode...I have just merged the meshes into a single one.

Now that the 3D Asteroid Catalogue has improved models of Janus and Epimetheus (thanks to LukeCEL), if only someone had improved texture maps for the two moons, since the old Voyager maps look terrible.

CM1215, please put up the download for the model of the Moon! Thanks. Ok then, I can do that. Here is the 256k poly model of the Moon from the 3D Asteroid Catalogue, UV mapped and given a 22k texture and 28k normal map. There is only VERY MINOR offset in some regions, but nothing too noticeable. No...

Art Blos, I suggest changing the color of Neptune's moon, Proteus, to a reddish color. The only color shot should probably be used as a refrence point. There's a problem with this: Voyager 2 wasn't there to take true color images of the moons it flew by. Many of the color images it took were not ac...
