Re: Tại sao nên chọn đồng hồ gỗ treo tường cao cấp RHYTHM 4MJ854WD06?

A link to a .7z archive of a Windows binary on Google Drive is provided in the post viewtopic.php?p=134470#p134470
It downloaded for me OK. I haven't tried running it.

A variant for running under Linux is mentioned later in that thread. I dunno if it's still available.

Under Windows, Celestia's menu File --> Capture image saves a copy of its window to whatever file you specify in either JPEG or PNG (but not BMP) format. Otherwise, you can use your favorite screen-grab program. In either case, you are limited to images no larger than your computer's screen. To defi...

Re: Planet Nine redefined orbit

You don't have to use photoshop. There are many free paint programs which can generate jpeg, png or dds images.

I like paint.net for Windows. Many people use gimp, which is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux.

Re: Constellations and Asterisms for other stars

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. As you've probably discovered, asterisms.dat just causes lines to be drawn in 3D between the specific stars listed in that file. The resulting constellations happen to look the way they do only because you're looking at them from our own solar system. As you've...

Re: Mars Weather Report - Is this possable?

Yes, it can be done, although writing the script doubtless would take some time. Both .CEL and .CELX scripts can be used to adjust Celestia's viewpoint, take it to specified locations and display textual information on the screen. .CEL scripts are easier to write but don't have the looping and other...

I'm a little confused. My impression is that the "betwix" function is a specialized variant of the "distanceto" function. Is that right?

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread

That's very strange. It certainly doesn't do that to me. v1.7.0 uses only what's in the v1.7.0 folder and v1.6.1 uses what's in the v1.6.1 folder. Is there any chance you accidentally selected "Create shortcuts here" instead of "Move here" ? FWIW, I used the v1.6.1 installer to c...

No, the Motherlode is not going away any time soon, unless something catastrophic happens to ibiblio, which seems unlikely.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread

@Janus That's a lot better! @LukeCEL I suspect Celestia isn't looking in the directory which contains your updated Addons. You can edit celestia.cfg to control where Celestia looks for Addons. Look for the section which starts with the line # The 'extras' directory is located under the celestia root...

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread

Sadly, it wants me to do things that I can't. For example, the "console log" is flooded with warnings about deprecated SSC Albedo declarations for all of my SSCs. As I mentioned in another post, that requirement is incompatible with all published SSC addons. The Albedo code should be chang...

Re: Enable or disable an object at a specified distance

Unfortunately, the various tricks one can think of to expand the distance at which Stars can be drawn need to be implemented within the C++ source code of Celestia. That distance is limited by the size of the numbers being used in Celestia's internal databases. For example, writing the C++ code to s...

Re: "Add-on releases" section of forum will now have to be Celestia's main addon respository

Some Addon creators have their own personal Celestia Web sites containing their Addons and have uploaded only a small fraction of their Addons to the Motherlode. I'm one of them. See https://www.classe.cornell.edu/~seb/Celestia/ A Web search for Celestia addons will locate some of those Addon creato...

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated December 30, 2018

In Celestia catalogs, the "/" is a separator, not a terminator.
It separates the elements in an object's "path" from one another.

Re: Enable or disable an object at a specified distance

replace_obj_v2 is now available: https://www.classe.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/files/replace_obj_v2.zip (11 KB expands to 27 KB). You should delete replace_obj before installing v2. v2 adds an example of replacing Mars by a cube. No modifications to Celestia's own definition of Mars are required. Bel...

Re: Is Celestia available for IPAD pro ios 12 ?

Unfortunately, Celestia is not available for iOS (iPhone or iPad) or Android, only for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Porting Celestia to either iOS or Android would require substantial effort. For what it's worth, there are iOS and Android apps which make it possible to use a tablet (or phone) to displa...

Re: Enable or disable an object at a specified distance

http://www.classe.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/files/replace_obj.zip (10 KB expands to 27 KB) is an addon which demonstrates how to use a ScriptedOrbit to replace one object by a second. It uses setvisible() to control which of the two object can be seen, depending on the distance from the observer's v...

Re: .CEL "Planetarium Mode" Statements

My understanding is that Jeff is asking that certain functions which are available in the .CELX (Lua) interpreter also be made available in the .CEL interpreter, which currently does not have them. Unfortunately, having them available in the LUA user interface or a Lua script doesn't make them avail...

Re: Enable or disable an object at a specified distance

Yes.

You could write a ScriptedOrbit for the object. It could calculate the distance from the observer to the object and call setvisible(true) or setvisible (false).

Re: Problem with barycenter

Unfortunately, you aren't doing anything wrong. You've encountered a limitation in the resolution of Celestia's STC reader: Celestia interprets the RA and Dec values as single precision (32 bit) binary floating point numbers. This means that they are limited to (approximately) 8 decimal digits of pr...
