Re: Celestia and Windows 7
It?s very sad that Vista is so bad, because I change to Vista x64 JUST NOW and I can?t change my OS until at least the end of the year ,probably Windows Seven.I really hope that you are wrong and Vista is not so bad .The major problem with Vista is only related to Celestia. And I can?t change the OS ...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
Well, as I anticipated in my first reply, from next May 5th Windows7 RC (Release Candidate) will be freely available, without limits in downloads number. Who is interested or merely curious on this new OS, can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx Give it a ...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
Well, IMHO this will occur in a short time, given the many many problems given by Vista, that yourself had for a long time. :( You are absolutely correct my friend. It is simply that I no longer wish to be the recipient of an un-tested O.S. Like you said concerning FPS, though. That *is* noteworthy...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
I would be interested in seeing how Celestia responds under Win 7 beta on my computer, but I don't know if, after installing Win 7, I will be able to revert back to XP if I desire to do that. Could I degenerate to XP should the desire arise? Hungry, IMO it would be preferable to have two partitions...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
P.S.: hey Bob, my post is for you too. Interested? I *am* interested from a technical standpoint, but I am *never* changing my OS again. Unless, of course, I *have* to because I buy a new machine that will only run the new system. Thanks, Brain-Dead Well, IMHO this will occur in a sho...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
Hallo people! I’m using Windows 7 built 7077 on my computer and when I install Celestia win 2 1.5.1, I couldn’t see anything, only a white screen. Can somebody help me? When I was running Windows XP on the same computer (the same graphic card) everything was O.K. :( Thanks! Roman Hello Roman. I was...

Re: Computer problems
Guillermo, if in your BIOS you have checked the "Auto Reboot", uncheck it. This way when you'll start again manually your PC you'll have on the screen the hated "Windows Blue Page" that contains many information about the reasons of missed launch. 8O May be you'll find there the ...

Re: Celestia v1.6.0 Release Candidate 1 available for testing
Confirmed, English installation. I guess this is by design, to avoid the long list of minor moons. Just like the orbits can now be plotted separately for principal and minor moons? Those five are the "not minor" Jupiter's moons (Amalthea must be very happy for her promotion to main moon :...

Re: Celestia v1.6.0 Release Candidate 1 available for testing
Sorry to trouble here, but I think I found a bug in 160rc1. :( If you look at the image you'll see that, even if there is a plethora of Jupiter Moons, if I right click on Jupiter I have only 5 moons shown. I checked for all planets with moons, and here the results: Earth and Mars are OK Jupiter 5 mo...

I'll try to help the bad memory of a lot of people here. I remember when I used an angry way (but a lot of people made the same thing before me, even if I don't use this as a justification) to reply to danielj continuous annoying requests and complaints, and I did the same with symastik, using sarca...

Re: Two new generic satellites for Earth (DOWNLOAD LINK)
Another nice stuff (IMO) would be to adapt or do models of the next missions to Mars... I agree with Christophe, Cham. :) Do you remember your very nice SS Sagan, Mars Relay Station, etc. models of Mars exploration? You spoke about the modelling of a shuttle, needed to bring astronauts from orbitin...

It's just that there isn't enough usefull interaction on the forum. Most of the time, I have the strong impression that I'm "talking to a wall" here. And when there are some comments, it's almost always the same : useless crittics, negativity, ego exposition and condescending comments (th...

Re: New Mir space station model (DOWNLOAD LINK)
The model is looking like these pictures (better than a diagram) : Of course, there are much less details on the model, and some boom and panels are not exactly in the same position. The panles are moveable mechanical pieces that changed very frequently (direction of the Sun, etc), so... At this po...

Re: New Mir space station model (DOWNLOAD LINK)
Moreover there are inaccuracies all around. I compared the model with pictures of the real thing and I find the model accurate enough. IMO, the "inaccuracies" you're talking about are very acceptable, considering the raisonnably low level of details of the model. Most of the other models ...
