Re: Zeta Reticuli . . .

I remember this addon crashed on me too. I think to fix I removed a folder in it labeled data. It was the files in that folder that made it crash. :) That was one of the fixes that worked for me, too . . . It was a data folder in a folder named Zet_ships - when it was removed, I was able to...

Re: Zeta Reticuli . . .

Try CTRL+V several times to cycle through the various options. Also try turning off various rendering options (e.g. atmospheres, ring shadows, cloud shadows). Unfortunately I do not have a copy of this add-on myself so can't do much testing on my side. :) Going through the various options with CTRL...

Re: Zeta Reticuli . . .

If it is this add-on you are talking about, it may be that your graphics card is not sufficiently powerful to handle the add-on. One thing to test is whether it works with all render paths. Try changing render path (CTRL+V) before going to Zeta Ret. :) If you mean just do CTRL+V, & then go to Z...

:) I completely removed Celestia, re-installed the 1.6 version, then added only Zeta Reticuli, & - it crashed & shut down . . . 8O

Re: Zeta Reticuli . . .

Which operating system are you using? Do you have any add-ons installed, and have you made any modifications to Celestia's datafiles? :) Windows XP - with add-ons . . . It doesn't happen with Celestia 1.3.2, but it does occur with 1.6 . . . I didn't touch the data files with 1.6, or 1.3.2, for that...

Re: Interesting rock formations.

I haven't got the hang of the render settings yet, my renders are coming out a bit noisy, I think I prefer the speed and cleanness of the Bryce renders. Although i think Vue tends to be a bit more realistic, clouds, rays, water etc. Render times are a drag however! http://bob.pinkmirrors.com/celest...

Re: Surviving nuclear holocaust(s)

No. I simply recalled reading the history of a planet in either Orion's arm or Arcbuilders, where a global conflict "escalated to the nuclear scale three times," setting society back technologically each time. That reminds me of the theme of Walter R. Miller's classic science fict...
